Review consensus
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced preserves the original’s greatest strengths: Edward Kenway’s charismatic pirate adventure, a vibrant Caribbean, memorable companions, and superb ship-to-ship combat. Its modern presentation is a major upgrade, while revised combat, stealth, parkour, weather, and new character content add welcome depth. However, the remake’s redesigned systems do not always fit the original mission structure, and several critics found combat and enemy AI simplistic or awkward. Removing the modern-day sections also creates pacing and narrative concerns. Resynced is a polished, highly enjoyable return to a classic, but it rarely surpasses the 2013 original.
