Review consensus
Cities: Skylines II expands the original with a larger buildable world, more flexible road construction, modular service buildings, resource industries, and a more structured progression system. These additions make urban planning deeper and give long-term city development a stronger sense of direction. However, reviewers found the launch version undermined by severe performance problems, crashes, visual glitches, sparse customization, and a world that often felt less lively than its predecessor. The result is an ambitious and rewarding city builder with substantial potential, but one that shipped technically unfinished and lacked some of the personality and content that made the original so enduring.
