Ghost of Tsushima is a visually striking open-world samurai adventure built around exceptionally satisfying sword combat, atmospheric exploration, and a dramatic story about Jin Sakai’s transformation from traditional samurai to the feared Ghost. Critics consistently praised Tsushima’s cinematic presentation, natural navigation system, photo mode, character-driven missions, and graceful combat progression. Its weaknesses are mostly familiar open-world design: repetitive side activities, occasional technical roughness, uneven enemy AI, basic stealth, and some forced stealth sequences.
