Review consensus
Kirby Air Riders turns deceptively simple controls into a fast, unusually deep racing experience. Its distinctive machines, character abilities, and varied modes give each event a different rhythm, while City Trial remains the standout thanks to its unpredictable exploration, power-ups, boss encounters, and competitive finales. Road Trip adds substantial solo progression through creative challenges and unlockables, and online play is smooth and highly competitive. The main drawbacks are a steep learning curve, occasional sensory overload, and a track selection that can feel modest beside traditional kart racers. Even so, the combination of variety, charm, and mastery-focused mechanics makes it an excellent Switch 2 multiplayer game.
