Nioh 3 successfully expands Team Ninja’s demanding action-RPG formula into broad, exploratory regions without sacrificing the series’ precise combat. The real-time switching between samurai and ninja styles adds meaningful tactical depth, while extensive loot, crafting, build customization, multiplayer, and memorable boss encounters provide a substantial long-term hook. Critics consistently praised the combat and the open-world structure, though recurring enemy designs, dense collectible-heavy maps, weak storytelling, dated visuals, and uneven explanations keep it from feeling like a complete reinvention. It is an excellent, content-rich sequel that particularly rewards experienced Soulslike and Nioh players.
