Splatoon 3 is a polished and energetic refinement of Nintendo’s colorful shooter formula rather than a radical reinvention. Its ink-based combat remains distinctive, fast, and highly replayable, while the expanded Hero Mode, improved Salmon Run, new weapons, training lobby, and customization systems give players more to do than before. Reviewers particularly praised the campaign’s flexible exploration and the game’s broad multiplayer package. The main criticisms concern familiar-feeling core systems, uneven launch connectivity, limited Tableturf functionality, and some questionable Splatfest and map decisions.
