Review consensus
Tekken 8 is a confident evolution of the long-running 3D fighting series, combining spectacular presentation with a deep and highly rewarding combat system. The new Heat mechanic pushes matches toward more aggressive, momentum-driven exchanges without eliminating the importance of timing, spacing, and defense. Its 32-character launch roster, strong rollback netcode, Ghost Battle features, cinematic story campaign, and accessible Special Style controls give newcomers and veterans plenty to enjoy. The main weaknesses are a short Arcade Quest, an underwhelming Character Stories mode, occasional frustration in Tekken Ball, and the continued absence of team battles. Overall, it is an energetic and content-rich package.
