Review consensus
EA Sports FC 25 remains a capable football simulation, but its improvements are uneven. The FC IQ tactics overhaul adds meaningful flexibility through Player Roles, while Rush provides a fast, chaotic five-a-side alternative that is the game’s clearest success. Career mode receives useful additions, including women’s leagues and expanded customization. However, the core match experience changes little, and unreliable tackling, player switching, goalkeeping, input delay, crashes, and sluggish menus undermine the package. Ultimate Team’s reduced rewards and heavier time demands are particularly unpopular. Overall, FC 25 is enjoyable for returning fans, but it feels more like an incremental update than a decisive step forward.
