Its campaign gives Master Chief stronger characterization and makes exploration enjoyable, while multiplayer preserves Halo’s distinctive arena rhythm across varied maps and modes. However, the open world is repetitive and often feels like connective filler rather than a meaningful expansion of the campaign, and the story can be confusing for players unfamiliar with recent lore. Multiplayer’s early progression grind, limited launch content, and slow update cadence also undermine an otherwise excellent foundation.
