Review consensus
Orbitals is a visually striking, anime-inspired co-op adventure built around asymmetrical teamwork, inventive tool-based puzzles, and a warm relationship between its protagonists, Maki and Omura. Reviewers consistently praised its vibrant presentation, excellent music, charming characters, and variety across platforming, spaceship navigation, and environmental challenges. Its limitations are similarly consistent: the campaign is brief, the story and character motivations are underdeveloped, and some puzzles or combat encounters feel simple or frustrating. Mandatory two-player co-op also limits its audience. Even so, Orbitals delivers a polished, heartfelt, and distinctive evening of cooperative play.
