Review consensus

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is an audiovisual showcase built around extraordinary facial animation, photorealistic environments, performances, music, and binaural sound. Critics consistently praised its atmosphere and presentation, especially its giant-scale set pieces and Melina Juergens’s performance. However, the sequel’s eight-hour campaign offers extremely limited interaction: linear exploration, elementary puzzles, and simplified one-on-one combat. Its story and treatment of Senua’s psychosis were also viewed as less focused and emotionally resonant than the original, with some reviewers finding the exposition repetitive and the narrative muddled. It is a striking cinematic experience, but a mechanically thin and uneven sequel.
