Ghost of Yōtei is a polished and ambitious follow-up that improves on Ghost of Tsushima with a compelling new protagonist, more reactive weapon-based combat, and a freer approach to open-world discovery. Atsu’s revenge story is conventional but effectively characterized, while Ezo provides a spectacular setting filled with meaningful exploration, bounty hunts, and varied side activities. Critics consistently praised the visuals, combat depth, DualSense integration, and atmosphere. However, some systems feel redundant, discovery can seem overly curated, and repetitive climbing, escorting, and combat sequences weaken the pacing. Overall, it is a superb but evolutionary samurai adventure.
