Review consensus
NBA 2K26 is a polished and expansive basketball simulation whose improved motion engine, smoother movement, refined shooting, excellent presentation, and growing WNBA content make it one of the strongest annual entries in the series. MyNBA remains deep, The City is better organized, and the new intermediate Learn 2K tutorial lowers the barrier for newcomers. However, defensive contests remain inconsistent, commentary still has occasional hiccups, and the game’s progression systems are heavily compromised by persistent VC-driven microtransactions and pay-to-win pressure in MyCareer and MyTeam. The result is an excellent on-court package burdened by an increasingly aggressive monetization model.
