Review consensus
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 preserves the series' exceptionally responsive arcade skating, satisfying combo system, beautifully rebuilt levels, strong roster, and replayable multiplayer. THPS 3 receives a largely successful modernization, while new stages such as Movie Studio and Waterpark add worthwhile content. The package is held back by controversial changes to THPS 4, whose freeform career structure is replaced by timed sessions and whose levels lose several original goals. The reduced classic soundtrack, occasional physics issues, and uneven objectives further weaken its preservationist appeal. Even so, the skating remains excellent, making this a highly enjoyable remake with notable compromises.
