Review consensus

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a compact, stealth-focused return to the series’ earlier identity, with Baghdad providing a richly detailed setting full of rooftops, markets, historical landmarks, and investigative opportunities. Reviewers consistently praised its social stealth, flexible assassination missions, streamlined gadgets, and welcome lack of open-world bloat. However, combat is awkward, parkour can be imprecise, enemy AI is inconsistent, and the supporting cast and story do not match the quality of the city itself. Its reliance on Valhalla context also weakens Basim’s narrative for newcomers. Mirage is best viewed as an enjoyable, focused course correction rather than a full revival of Assassin’s Creed’s glory days.
